E' s blanket

I've been making an EPP blanket for my little girl. I started it last year and I'm aiming to make it for her single bed, that's what I'm aiming for. It's all hand sewn and very soothing to make each evening...

It's made it of vintage bed sheets, a mix of cotton and poly cotton. I've spent way too much money on the material but it's been so much fun to do...

My hope is I can get it finished once day for my little lady, I'm going to line the bottom of the quilt with cotton fabric. It's been very soothing to sew, it's helped me get though the long winter evenings...

We've also been making cards together, E really enjoys drawing and it's a fun activity for us to do each day. I hope you had a good weekend :)

Spring blanket

I've been picking out colours to start a spring blanket. Yellow and cream have stuck in my mind as I like the colour combination and yellow is such a joyful colour...

I'm currently at the ironing and placing squares together stage at the moment. It's very laborious but I'm enjoying the process...

I've also been baking this week, making a carrot cake. This one is a definite favourite to bake, it's a very dense cake but very tasty. My sister and mum really liked it...

Baking cakes and doing some sewing have been keeping my mind off the building work still on going at the house. It's also cheering up this wet and windy weather we're having in the UK at the moment....

This is my little brass sewing kit. It's from SewKnitVintage  a lovely shop on Etsy which sells vintage sewing kits. 

My plans for today are housework, a food shop and some baking if I can fit it in. Wishing you a lovely weekend :) 

Little blue blanket...

I've finally managed to finish my sisters baby blanket, a little turquoise and purple patchwork...

I used fabric from my stash and bought some embroidery thread to sew through it...

I feel pleased with it as its the first patchwork I've ever made using a sewing machine...

I feel annoyed that I couldn't do the corner of the binding properly and so that's my next task for the next blanket I have in mind to make for spring...

Other then that, I've been baking banana cake again and am still doing enormous amounts of decorating in the new house which is still ongoing...
